Maria Isabel Ruscelli, founder and director of the Iberian American Language Institute (IALI) was born in Argentina. She graduated from Adelphi University, in New York, with a Masters Degree in Bilingual Special Education. Additionally, she holds from Argentina, a Bachelor in Law from the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (UBA), a second Bachelor Degree of Arts in Drama, and an Associates Degree in Journalism from the Broadcasting Institute of Journalism, (ISER).
She is a certified New York City public school teacher and in 2009, she launched a Spanish after school program for students who attend PS 183 in collaboration with experienced and caring Argentinean colleagues.
Maria Isabel would like to use her background and professional experience to promote the learning of a second language. She believes that every child should have the opportunity to learn a second language in order to face the new challenges of a global society in the 21st Century.
